Rick Santorum: Majority of Americans don’t need a college education
Education? most American’s don’t need no sticking education. At least that’s according to GOP Presidential hopeful Rick Santorum who told a crowd in New Hampshire that Obama is spreading his “elitist” propaganda by advocating the need for more college educated citizens.
“We are leaving so many children behind,” Mr. Santorum said at a forum sponsored by the Atlantic, the National Journal and Saint Anselm College. “They’re not ready to go to [college.] They don’t want to go to college. They don’t need to go to college. I was so outraged that the President of the United States [said] every student should go to college.”
“Who are you to say that every child in America goes” to college, he continued. “I have seven kids. Maybe they’ll all go to college. But if one of my kids wants to go and be an auto mechanic, good for him! That’s a good-paying job.”
Right because suggesting that we all skip college for a prosperous life as a McDonalds janitor is so much better than wanting to be a doctor or politician? I’m sure that Wendy’s cashier who decided to skip college is feeling mighty proud of herself right now knowing he/she has the full support of Rick Santorum. That’s quite comical coming from a man with a doctorates in law, he’s clearly benefiting from his college eduction – I guess its easier to exploit a country full of blithering idiots.
